How are weak acids and bases compared?

Weak acids and bases are very simple to understand if you compare it to something else. As you can imagine, since a strong acid or base will appear at either end of the pH chart, a weak acid or base, will appear somewhere towards the middle. A weak acid will have the pH reading of around 4 or less (7 is neutral, so it cannot go past that) and a weak base will have the reading of about 9 or less. When H30 ions increase, the pH decreases, making what was originally a strong base a weak base. When H30 ions decrease, the pH rises, causing a strong acid to decrease in strength.
