How do matter and energy interact?

Kinetic energy

- Definition of: Energy that moving objects possess by virtue of their motion.

- Equation

Amount of Kinetic energy - KE

Mass - m

Velocity - v

Potential energy

- Definition of: energy an object possesses because of its position. Elevated objects have potential energy.

Law of conservation of energy
- The energy can be transformed form one kind to another. Energy is also often transferred between objects. When energy is transferred or changes form, none can be created or destroyed. The law of conservation of energy is the formal statement of this principle. That states that energy cannot be created or destroyed. It may be transformed or transferred from one object to another, but the total amount of energy in the universes never changes.
